Clairvoyance is considered one of the three classes of psychic perception along with telepathy and precognition and there is some overlap among these three.  The word “Clairvoyance” is derived from French meaning “clear seeing” and refers to a psychic event involving the power to see an event or an image from the past, present or future in your mind’s eye.

Clairvoyants See Symbols

Someone who is gifted in clairvoyance receives information in visual symbols or images. They describe it as having a sort of movie screen in your head with images moving across it. Other clairvoyants see symbols that they must learn to interpret. Sometimes these symbols appear in the form of spirit animals who may be moving or speaking bringing messages from the spirit realm.

Most commonly these images are subjective, meaning they appear in the mind of the clairvoyant and more rarely these images may actually appear in the environment around the clairvoyant (shamanic) which are referred to as objective imagery.

Types of Clairvoyance

According to Eastern tradition, the third eye or sixth chakra located in the front centre of your forehead is the seat of clairvoyance. There are several different types of clairvoyance or “clear seeing”,

• Auras
• Into the past (retro-cognition)
• Into the future (precognition)
• Through objects (x-ray vision)
• The health conditions of others (body scanning)
• From far away (travelling clairvoyance)
• Dreams of others (dream clairvoyance)
• Ability to see astral, etheric, spiritual, divine planes

People who have strong visual skills tend to be especially attuned to clairvoyance. If you think in pictures and notice how things look or appear as opposed to how they sound you may have clairvoyant abilities just waiting to be developed!
