Kathleen Meadows: Scholar, Spiritualist, & Psychic
Kathleen is a woman-centered psychic, Victorian spiritualist academic and seeker on the path to Love and Wisdom. For more than 35 years she has been a psychic reader and teacher of the psychic sciences. She is a Tarot Grandmaster, certified professional psychic, versed symbologist, and story-teller.
Interpersonally people describe her as honest, resourceful, and discerning. She benefited from growing up in the lingering fumes of the revolutionary ’60’s, resulting in a spiritually practical world view dominated by a fierce advocacy for personal freedom, equality, and mutual respect. She has been described as irreverently humourous, soft-hearted, and spiritually gifted by those who celebrate her work.
An Academic Psychic?!
Apart from her spiritual journey, she has an academic background in the arts, psychology and religion including a Master’s Degree in the Psychology of Religion from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
Highlights & Lessons Learned
Kathleen’s spiritual unfoldment is a culmination of many paths taken. A complete description of her spiritual journey would comprise a hefty volume considering how long (38 years) and how many different traditions she has studied and practiced. For the sake of cyber expediency we’ve constructed it to read more like a glossary of highlights and lessons learned.
A Psychic’s Spiritual Journey Starts with a Rebellion
Kathleen scrambled to get herself to church every Sunday morning to attend one or another of the Christian Churches that were in her Toronto neighbourhood. Her parents didn’t go to church so her devout and independent dedication raised their eyebrows and triggered concern. Joining others in a celebration of the spirit just felt like a natural home for her mystic soul!
Balancing Mind, Body, & Spirit: Key to Healthy Psychic Muscle
Body Health & Awareness: Kathleen continues a daily practice of walking, cycling, and pilates. She began practicing Yoga at 17 years old in Sudbury ON in 1971 with Kareena’s Yoga on Educational TV. This daily practice has helped her to maintain a strong link between the body, mind and spirit which she truly believes is crucial for ongoing spiritual development and psychic accuracy.
B.A. York University in English & (pre) Women’s Studies
When Kathleen began university in 1973, she took as many classes in women studies as possible. York University didn’t have (nor did any university at that time) a dedicated women’s studies department or that would definitely have been the place for her! Joanna Stuckey, a professor in the Humanities department at that time had a tremendous impact on her grasp of the academic feminist discourse. In the ’80’s she was to become the central driving force behind the formation of the Women’s Studies Department at York University which has grown to become the most respected programs of its kind in Canada.
M.A. the Psychology of Religion WLU, Waterloo, ON, Canada
Kathleen’s Master’s studies began at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco in 1987. It was here that Kathleen was honoured and recognized with scholarly awards to study with Elinor Gadon and Angeles Arrien. These brilliant women were not only her mentors, they also became her greatest supporters and friends. Kathleen thanks Elinor especially for her direction to a Jungian scholar at the University of Toronto upon her return to Canada in 1989.
Kathleen completed her M.A. degree in the Psychology of Religion at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo Ontario with an academic focus on the works of Carl Jung and the Goddess in academic literature. Marion Woodman (a Toronto Jungian analyst), Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Helen Luke and June Singer are a few of her Jungian academic guides.
Vicki Noble’s work on the Goddess and the Tarot also comprised a central piece in her spiritual journey with the Goddess. Kathleen’s foray into teaching the Tarot at Camosun College in Victoria BC began with feminist tarot and remained true to that focus for more than 20 years.
Psychic Kathleen Identifies Spirit Guide (Age 52 to Present)
The Spiritualist Church. Kathleen’s father’s father and her mother (separately in different cities and estranged from each other), found their way to the Spiritualist Church more than 30 years ago. In 2006 Kathleen was invited to go to Lilydale in NY with a couple of friends. This is where she picked up Cora Richmond’s book on The Soul in its Human Embodiments and joyfully realized she had finally identified her spiritual guide. If you’ve been trying to figure out who your spirit guide is then you know how truly exciting this discovery truly is! Kathleen may also be able to help you with that too.
Cora’s trance mediumship gift was influential in the mid to late 1800’s throughout the US and the United Kingdom. Her spiritual guides passed celestial, spiritual teachings through her instrumentality. She represents the culmination of all Kathleen’s studies, prayers and practice today.
